Description: How do our childhood experiences impact our eventual health, our choices, and even our parenting? During this session, we will examine the role that trauma and toxic stress play in the development of healthy social-emotional development and executive function, using brain research and the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Study as a foundation. We will briefly explore several effective trauma-informed strategies to use when initiating and discussing difficult and challenging situations with families that will provide support and promote healing.
